Beginnings in Construction

I started in the construction field at the age of 15, helping my step-father hang gutters throughout the summers and weekends. As his company grew, he became dedicated to roofing and my step-father believed it was too dangerous for me.

First Painting Job

I then found a painting job at a facilities management company, which specialized in meticulous commercial painting for a large hedgefund in Fairfield County. After 5+ years of painting during off hours (5:00 pm – 1:00 am and weekends), I realized that I needed to find a better work-life balance.

College Days: Pursuing Business Data Analytics

Soon after taking many classes at Gateway Community College, I transferred to the University of Connecticut and pursued a degree in Business Data Analytics. To pay my way through school, I was constantly doing painting side jobs for family and friends.

First Office Job

Post-graduation, I landed an office job with a great starting salary and many benefits. This “dream” job was not what I once thought it was. After many mornings dreading the commute and spending afternoons counting down the minutes to 5:00 PM, I took a giant leap of faith. With guidance from my business-minded stepfather, and painting skills from my previous employer, I started my very own painting company.

New Haven Painters LLC is Born

New Haven Painters LLC started with my close friend Todd Daneault (current project manager) and me driving around in a small 1994 Chevy Astro Van. There was many times the van would not start and we scrambled to figure a way to get our supplies to the job site. We now have 5 full sized trucks on the road and hundreds of happy, repeat customers.
