Are you looking to freshen up your home with some new paint? Would you like to have a professional company give your residence a much-needed makeover inside and out? If so, you’ve come to the right place. At New Haven Painters LLC, our homes speak for themselves. Our experienced residential painters are readily available to work with you to find the perfect color for your kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and even exterior of your home so when the job is finished, you will know you made the right choice.
Residential painting involves applying paint to the interior and exterior surfaces of homes to enhance their appearance and protect them from damage. This service includes a wide range of tasks such as preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming; selecting and mixing paint colors; and applying the paint using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. From single rooms to entire homes, residential painting can transform your environment, making it more inviting and reflective of your personal style.
Over time, every home will need an update to the paint on both the inside and outside. This is where we come in! We take our time with every one of our jobs and truly care about making sure the end result is exactly what our clients wanted. Below we’ve listed our two residential painting services and a little more information about each.
Interior Painting. If you are looking for a modern bathroom, a bright kitchen, a teenage bedroom update, or to get rid of the color in your master bedroom you hate, our painters are the ones to call. We can efficiently paint over any old or unwanted color in any room inside of your home leaving a beautiful, fresh new look.
Exterior Painting. The elements in the outside world can affect the paint on your home as it grows older, meaning there will come a time when it will need to be repainted. When that time comes, trust our painters to get the job done right.
Interior and exterior paints are formulated differently to meet the specific demands of their environments. Interior paint is designed for indoor use, focusing on aesthetics and ease of cleaning. It typically has fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making it safer for indoor air quality. This paint is also formulated to withstand scrubbing and resist stains. Exterior paint, on the other hand, is made to endure harsh weather conditions, UV rays, and temperature fluctuations. It contains additives to resist fading, mildew, and chipping, ensuring durability and long-lasting protection for the home's exterior surfaces. Choosing the right type of paint for each area ensures optimal performance and longevity, and at New Haven Painters, LLC, we provide experienced guidance to help you make the best choice for your painting project.
The duration of a residential painting project can vary based on several factors, including the size of the home, the complexity of the job, the number of rooms to be painted, and the type of surfaces involved. On average, painting a single room can take a day or two, while an entire home might require a week or more. Preparation time, such as cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces, also adds to the overall timeline. Weather conditions can affect exterior painting schedules, potentially causing delays. At New Haven Painters, LLC, we provide detailed timelines and keep you informed throughout the process, ensuring your project is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Our goal is to minimize disruption to your daily life while delivering exceptional results that transform your home.

Any paint job, no matter how big or small requires some prep work before the actual painting can begin. This is even more true when painting the exterior of a house. First, all loose paint needs to be scraped off and any cracks or holes need to be filled. Once the surface is smooth, it needs to be primed. This step is crucial as it helps the paint to better adhere to the surface and provides a more even finish. Once the primer is dry, it's finally time to start painting. Depending on the size of the house and the number of painters working, it can take anywhere from a few days to a week to paint the entire exterior. However, weather conditions can also play a role in how long it takes to paint a house.
It is important to allow at least two or three days for the paint fumes and drying time.
Spring. If the temperature is mild but not too hot outside then now would be an excellent time to do some painting!
The best wind speed for painting is anything under 8 mph. This means that you will be able to stay on your ladder and finish the job without being blown off!
You should always wait at least three days before painting exterior surfaces like wood or brick. These materials take longer to fully dry and it's not a good idea if they're still wet when you paint them with brush strokes!
It is not recommended you paint the exterior of your house in the rain, as the paint will wash away. The interior surfaces of your house can be painted when it is raining outside as long you make sure that any rain does not enter through open windows or screens.
Acrylic paint is generally considered non-toxic and safe for use in residential painting projects. It is water-based, which means it has fewer harmful chemicals compared to oil-based paints. Acrylic paint emits low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making it a safer option for indoor use, especially in well-ventilated areas. However, it's still important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and take standard safety precautions, such as wearing masks and gloves and ensuring good ventilation during application.
Paint often dries slightly darker than its initial wet appearance. This change occurs as the water or solvents in the paint evaporate, leaving the true color behind. However, the difference is usually minimal. Various factors, such as the paint's finish (matte, satin, gloss), lighting conditions, and the surface being painted, can also influence how the final color appears. To ensure satisfaction with the chosen color, it's a good idea to test a small section of the wall and observe it as it dries.
